Sanders among top democrats in early polls
Runner-up for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, Bernie Sanders has yet to announce his probable 2020 bid. Former Vice President Joe Biden leads the pack, whileย Texas Congressman Beto OโRourke also emerged as a new contender.
Former State Senator McAllister to be retried
After having his conviction overturned by the Vermont Supreme Court, Norm McAllister will be retried, according to Franklin Deputy Stateโs Attorneys John Lavoie and Diane Wheeler. The prosecutors plan to refile the charges related to prostitution involving a tenant who lived and worked on McAllister’s Highgate farm.
Vermont Lifeโs 2019 calendars will be the last
The tradition Vermont Life annual calendars will end in 2019 as a result of the closure of its state-operated parent magazine. Having once sold more than 100,000 copies a year, only 13,000 calendars will be distributed by the state this year. The website www.vermontlife.com will be redirected to www.vermontvacation.com.
