[B]ENNINGTON — The purchase of a business district parcel for $1 million has cleared the way for a local auto dealership to shift operations to a Northside Drive site.
The property is near the entrance of the Monument Plaza, which houses a recently expanded Wal-Mart store, a PriceChopper market and other stores.
He said renovation of an existing building is continuing and construction is underway on an addition to house the service department.
“We’re very excited about the move,” Rucinski said Thursday. “It is a great location, it will give us more space, and it will be nicer for the service department.”
He said the current location doesn’t have enough space in the service area to work on some of the larger Ram trucks Stephens sells.
The new building formerly housed John’s Building Supply and is now vacant.
According to property transfers listed on the town clerk’s website, B&K Realty LLC sold 200-02 Northside Drive, along with nearby land at 128 Hicks Ave., on Oct. 11 for $1 million to Pita Development LLC. The property was assessed at $403,700.
According to the town assessor’s office records, B&K Realty, controlled by Jay Bursey and William Koziara, is based in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. B&K Realty purchased the property in 2011.
