Vermont Governor-elect Phil Scott will attend the Republican Governors Association meeting on Nov. 15 and 16.

The two-day conference will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Orlando, Florida, and it is the first gathering of Republican governors after the Nov. 8 election. Day one will feature panels on “leading the change” with Govs. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, Rick Scott of Florida and Nikki Haley of South Carolina.

In day two, newly elected governors will hear about strategies employed by the “best states for business.”

On Election Day, voters elected seven Republican governors. The United States now has the largest number of Republican governors — 33 — since 1922, according to the RGA.

In Vermont, the Republican Governors Association spent $3 million on Phil Scott’s campaign. The organization purchased 13 television ads, two statewide radio ads, delivered 500,000 direct mail pieces and bought 5 million impressions in its digital campaign.
