National Life Group and Montpelier Alive organized a walk in Montpelier Friday in memory of the five teenagers who were killed in a collision with a wrong-way driver on Oct. 8. Four of the five children, all from the Waterbury area, were students at Harwood Union School in Duxbury.
Employees of the insurance company and community members walked from Montpelier City Hall to the Statehouse in solidarity with the families and the Harwood community.
National Life Group has donated $10,000 to the Five Families Fund of the Mad River Valley Community Fund, a 501C3 community nonprofit.
The money will go to support the needs of families stemming from the tragedy.
