The state says employees could receive federal benefits if they were displaced when Energizer outsourced their jobs from Bennington and Allscripts outsourced positions from a South Burlington office.

The federal government approved two separate applications from the Vermont Department of Labor in December and January. The decisions mean the federal government will help laid off workers under a portion of federal law that protects them if they lose their jobs due to international trade.

According to news releases from the Vermont Department of Labor, the following groups of workers may be eligible for reemployment services, job retraining, relocation allowance, unemployment insurance, and other benefits.

• Workers at Energizer Holding Inc. who were laid off on or after Nov. 25, 2014, or who are under current threat of a layoff.
• People who worked on site at the Energizer for Staff Management/SMX, Bennington, Vermont who were wholly or partially laid off on or after Nov. 25, 2014.
• Workers at either Energizer or the related company “who are threatened with a total or partial layoff through Jan. 12, 2018.

• Allscripts workers who were laid off on or after Jan. 1, 2014, or current workers who are under current threat of layoff.
• People who worked on the Allscripts site for Sutherland Healthcare Solutions (formerly Apollo Health Street Limited); EHR Integration Services LLC; Insight Global Inc.; or Insight Marketing Solutions who were wholly or partially laid off on or after Jan. 1, 2014.
• Workers for Allscripts or the related companies who are threatened with a layoff through Dec. 30, 2017.

The Department of Labor says workers who fall into any of the above categories should call them at 802.828.4177 or visit one of their 12 regional offices in order to find out more about the benefits.
