A statewide strategic education plan is open for public comment until Dec. 4.

The five-year plan describes how Vermont will help school boards improve student performance. A draft version was adopted by the State Board of Education at its Nov. 19 meeting.

Since starting the process at a June 2014 retreat, the Board has discussed the plan at monthly public meetings, according to a press release from the Agency of Education.

The Board will review public comments at its next meeting, scheduled for Dec. 16. Board members expect to approve the final version at that time.

The 2015-2019 Strategic Plan draft can be viewed online. Comments can be submitted by email to Perry Thompson, State Board of Education Liaison, at AOE.SBEStrategicPlan@state.vt.us.
