L.L. Bean will hold a three-day grand opening celebration at Burlington Town Center on Nov. 7-9. The event includes giveaways, seminars, clinics and the famous Bootmobile, according to a press release from the Freeport, Maine company.
On Friday, when the doors open at 9 a.m. L.L. Bean will give away gift cards to the first 200 customers. Experts will give demonstrations with live birds of prey and there will be a rock climbing wall clinic.
โWeโve been interested in opening a store in the Burlington market for some time now and Iโm pleased to say itโs finally here,โ said Ken Kacere, senior vice-president and general manager of retail at L.L.Bean said in a statement. โOur first store in Vermont will give customers the chance to experience our brand and all that it entails in real-life, just in time for the holiday shopping season.โ
The new L.L.Bean 18,290 square foot store is located in the Burlington Town Center. The store will employ about 100 people and will carry apparel and footwear and outdoor gear for hiking, fly-fishing, kayaking, and camping.
L.L. Bean has 20 retail stores outside of Maine; the Burlington location is the company’s first store in Vermont.
