Gov. Peter Shumlin’s campaign is out with its second television ad touting the governor’s role in supporting businesses in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene.
In the 30 second spot, John Wall of WallGoldfinger in Randolph praises Shumlin’s support in the immediate aftermath of the 2011 storm, which allowed his furniture business to get back on its feet.
A bespectacled Shumlin nods and gives knowing looks to craftsmen while Wall reads a voice over.
“Peter Shumlin knew the state had to move fast to help businesses like ours recover. Now we’re looking to hire even more people,” Wall says, “That’s how I know Peter Shumlin is leading Vermont in the right direction.”
Shumlin’s first ad made reference to his handling of the storm’s aftermath as well, and his campaign appears to be leaning heavily on Shumlin’s leadership following the disaster.
The ad first aired last week and is running statewide.
