Gov. Peter Shumlin and AARP President Rob Romasco will discuss health care reform in Vermont in a public forum in South Burlington Tuesday night.

Shumlin’s No. 1 priority is the creation of a universal health care system. The governor and Romasco will discuss how Vermont will pursue reforms through reductions in medical costs, taxpayer financing of medical payments and the launch of a single payer system.

The event, “Health Care at a Crossroads: A Conversation and Q & A on Health Care and Vermontโ€™s Path Forward,” will be held 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 11 at the Double Tree Hotel and Conference Center, 1117 Williston Road, South Burlington. The discussion will be moderated by Greg Marchildon, state director of AARP Vermont.
