The Vermont Ski Areas Association reported a small increase in downhill ski visits over the previous season. Canadian skiers were still largely absent.
While most rules from last winter will likely be lifted, some resorts are hanging on to things like mobile ticket purchasing and limited season pass sales, aiming to enhance the skier experience.
Vermont is the fourth-largest ski state in the country, with an average of 4 million skier visits per year. About 80 percent of those skier visits come from out of state, “and most of those are from Boston and the tri-state area, which, when you look at the travel map, are still glowing yellow and red at this point. We obviously hope that will change and improve."
