Heroin and crack cocaine fueled violence in the Highgate home at the center of the case, according to testimony in the sentencing hearings for Erika Guttilla and her mother, Carmen Guttilla. They were each ordered to serve at least 10 years in prison in the shooting death of Troy Ford.
Erika Guttilla is charged with the first-degree murder of 35-year-old Troy Ford in May 2018, whose body was found in the woods. Her mother, Carmen Guttilla, is charged with aiding in the commission of first-degree murder.
In a plea deal, Corey Cassani was sentenced as an accessory after the fact in the shooting death of Troy Ford in Highgate.
Police say Erika Guttilla shot her boyfriend dead and is now believed to be on the run with Corey Cassani. The suspect’s mother had been arrested for aiding the killing.
