The move comes six weeks after the network acquired an orthopedic surgery practice in South Burlington and Central Vermont Medical Center acquired an orthopedic practice in Berlin.

The University of Vermont Health Network – Central Vermont Medical Center elected two new trustees at their annual Board of Trustees Meeting.
On Monday, November 17, 2014 a number of dignitaries placed their ceremonial shovels in the ground, including Norwich University President Richard W. Schneider, University of Vermont Health Network-Central Vermont Medical Center President and CEO Judy Tartaglia, and Green Mountain Family Practice Medical Director Craig Sullivan, MD.
In the final step of a rebranding process, Fletcher Allen Health Care has been renamed the University of Vermont Medical Center, and its regional network is now the University of Vermont Health Network. The system includes two Vermont hospitals and two in New York; further expansion is likely in both states.
Strong performance by the four-hospital group Fletcher Allen Partners leads the ratings agency to award its third-highest ranking.
The main entrance to Central Vermont Medical Center at the traffic light on Fisher Road will reopen on Monday, September 8, and the temporary access at Building D will be closed.
Starting at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday July 22 the main entrance road to Central Vermont Medical Center on Fisher Road in Berlin (at the traffic light to the mall) will be closed for reconstruction and repaving of the entrance road.
