Susan Allen, Interim Editor-in-Chief
Susan Allen is the interim editor-in-chief of VTDigger. She has been a journalist in Vermont for 40 years, working at The Burlington Free Press, The Associated Press, The Times Argus, The Bennington Banner and The Manchester Journal. She has served as a general assignment, political and government reporter, an editorial writer, a columnist and executive editor.
She has also served in state, city and town government positions in Vermont.
Throughout her career, Susan has stressed the value of local journalism, including a focus on how decisions made in Montpelier and Washington D.C. impact the lives, pocketbooks and jobs of Vermont residents and their families.
She is committed to VTDigger’s mission to strengthen quality, independent journalism in Vermont.
