Gov. Phil Scott extended the Covid state of emergency by a month, to Nov. 15, according to a press release from his office Thursday afternoon. This is the eighth month of the order, which was first declared on March 13.

The governor made no changes to the executive order, which allows public health and economic measures to stay in place.

There have been 1,903 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Vermont since the start of the pandemic, with 134 reported this month.

“Vermont has led the nation in responding to this virus” Scott said. . We’ve worked together to keep each other safe and prevent our healthcare system from being overwhelmed, allowing us to methodically reopen our economy and keep it open while many other states have had to take steps backward. But we cannot become complacent.”
