The state Department of Health reported Friday that it conducted almost 1,300 new tests for Covid-19, with just one new positive. That brings the total number of people diagnosed with the illness since the outbreak began in March to 1,027.

An outbreak in Winooski, totalling 34 cases thus far, has prompted a pop-up testing site at the O’Brien Community Center. Tests were done on 165 people at the Winooski site on Thursday. 

Testing there will continue every day next week. People can sign up for an appointment at https://humanresources.vermont.gov/winooski, or by calling 2-1-1.

There were no new deaths, keeping the total number of people who have died from Covid-19 in Vermont at 55. There are 14 people hospitalized with suspected, but not confirmed, cases. No one is hospitalized with a confirmed case.

The state reported 1,283 new tests conducted, bringing the total to 39,117.
