Gov. Peter Shumlin is taking off for a two-week vacation in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, starting Tuesday. He’ll stay at his cabin, referred to as “The Yellow House” in court documents, which he co-owns with his ex-wife, Deborah Holway.

Shumlin’s spokesperson, Sue Allen, said Shumlin is taking the vacation with his two daughters, Rebecca and Olivia, who went up a day early to clean the house for their father. He returns Aug. 27.

The Cape Breton property is a customary vacation spot for Shumlin — he’s spent time there during each of the past two years.
