Dear Reader,

Today, VTDigger is launching a special five-day campaign in partnership with the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) to help put 400 new books into the hands of Vermont children.

Through Saturday, every donation to VTDigger will do double duty: support independent local reporting and provide a brand-new children’s book through CLiF.

Our goal is simple: 400 children’s books from 400 readers. Will you join us?

For some children, this will be the very first book they own.

Every child deserves access to the opportunities that literacy can open. Every community deserves access to trusted local information. This effort is about strengthening both.

This year’s campaign is made possible through the generosity of Vermont Book Shop, which is underwriting the cost of every book donated through CLiF. That means 100% of every gift made to VTDigger during the campaign will directly support our journalism while still ensuring a new book reaches a child.

Will you support two worthy causes with one donation?

About CLiF

The Children’s Literacy Foundation provides free books and literacy experiences to children across Vermont and New Hampshire. Through school programs, book giveaways and author visits, CLiF helps children build a lifelong love of reading and learning while expanding access to books for families and communities.

At VTDigger, we believe strong communities depend on access to both reliable local information and opportunities for children to thrive.

We hope you’ll join us this week in supporting both.

With gratitude,

Libbie Sparadeo
