During our Spring Member Drive, 2,006 members contributed $161,448 to support VTDigger’s independent, nonprofit newsroom.

That total is about $5,000 more than we raised together during last year’s spring drive, a meaningful sign of continued support for fact-based reporting in Vermont. And thanks to a group of generous donors, a significant portion of those contributions will be matched, making every gift go even further.

We were especially grateful to welcome 271 first-time members and 92 new sustaining monthly members. Whether this was your first gift or one of many, your support helps keep this work strong and accessible to everyone.

Throughout the drive, we shared first-person dispatches from our reporters, offering a closer look at how and why they do their work. From time spent digging through public records to long days at the Statehouse and in communities across Vermont, these behind-the-scenes accounts reflected the care, persistence and rigor that go into every story we publish.

We also heard from hundreds of readers about why VTDigger matters in your daily lives. Many of you told us you start your day with the Daily Digger newsletter. Others shared how important it is to have free, accessible news that isn’t controlled by corporate owners or political interests. Again and again, you emphasized the importance of in-depth reporting in Vermont.

Here are just a few of the messages you shared:

Thank you for standing with VTDigger and for helping keep local news strong in Vermont.

Sincerely,
