With Vermont losing 75% of its newspaper jobs over the past quarter century, VTDigger’s coverage of the Legislature is essential.
This session, we’ll be digging into major debates that shape daily life: how to fund education amid rising property taxes; whether health care proposals strengthen or strain hospital systems; how the state plans to confront housing shortages and homelessness; and what it will take to prepare communities for major flooding and other climate disasters.
We’ll track key bills, explain what they mean for people, businesses and towns, and flag potential conflicts of interest. We’ll also highlight testimony that doesn’t always make headlines and pay attention to what isn’t being discussed — and why.
