12/12/25 update: View the full recording and top takeaways from this event here.

Vermont’s public education system is in the midst of its biggest transition in years. Act 73, the state’s sweeping new education reform law, has already set major changes in motion, but as the next legislative session approaches, key questions remain unanswered.

To help Vermonters understand what’s changing, what’s uncertain and what could be next, VTDigger is hosting a free virtual conversation with education reporter Corey McDonald live on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at noon. Space is limited, so please register to reserve your spot below.

Corey has been covering the rollout of Act 73 since it was signed into law in July, 2025. In this one-hour session, he’ll unpack the reforms already reshaping Vermont’s schools and answer reader questions.

The event will be moderated by VTDigger’s Libbie Sparadeo and will respond to questions submitted in advance by readers.

When decisions about education are made, every Vermonter has a stake. This event is part of our mission to connect readers directly with our newsroom to deepen understanding of Vermont’s most pressing issues.

We invite you to join the conversation and help ensure it happens in the open.
