QUECHEE โ The person who died after being transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head on Sunday was a 21-year-old man, Hartford Police Chief Greg Sheldon said on Wednesday.
But exactly what occurred that led to the Sunday afternoon shooting at a residence on Fairbanks Turn in Quechee remains unclear as police have released few details about the incident.
Meanwhile, autopsy results of the deceased man conducted by the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord remain โcurrently undetermined, pending further investigation,โ Hartford police said in a Wednesday news release.
Earlier, on Monday, police reported โpreliminary investigationsโ indicated that โall parties involved were known to one anotherโ and that โthe incident is believed to be isolated.โ
In the Wednesday update, Hartford police disclosed that the Vermont State Police and the Hartford Police Department had executed a search warrant at 235 Fairbanks Turn on Sunday, indicating for the first time the incident was being investigated as a potential criminal matter.
โInvestigators are diligently working to process evidence and speak with the people involved,โ the updated news release said.
