
As Vermonters prepare to cast ballots in a historic election season, VTDigger plans to host four debates between leading candidates for top state and federal offices.
The virtual debates will be livestreamed on VTDiggerโs website and on Youtube. They will be moderated by the nonprofit news organizationโs reporters and editors, and they will feature questions submitted in advance by readers. The 2024 Digger Debate Series kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 1. Hereโs the schedule:
Lieutenant gubernatorial debate
Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m.ย
Featuring Lt. Gov. David Zuckerman, a Progressive/Democrat, and former state Sen. John Rodgers, a Republican

Featuring Gov. Phil Scott, a Republican, and former Middlebury Selectboard member Esther Charlestin, a Democrat/Progressive

Featuring U.S. Rep. Becca Balint, a Democrat, and Mark Coester, a Republican/Libertarian

Note: Sanders and Malloy have both indicated they will take part in the Digger Debate Series, but Sanders has yet to confirm a date.
