ST. ALBANS โ Around 11 a.m, traffic โ both pedestrians and vehicles โ was picking up in downtown St. Albans. The Franklin County city lies directly in the path of totality for Mondayโs solar eclipse, and organizers here have been preparing for thousands of visitors for months.
At Taylor Park, the site of the cityโs official eclipse celebration, dozens of people had already set up folding chairs and tripods, some with cameras and others with telescopes.
Just down the street at The Traveled Cup, a popular downtown coffee shop, the line was spilling out the door onto the street.
