Dear readers,

Because we at VTDigger believe that a more informed Vermont is a smarter Vermont, it matters to us that children have the opportunity to fall in love with reading.

But the reality is that many Vermont families donโ€™t have childrenโ€™s books at home because they are a luxury they cannot afford. Thatโ€™s why VTDigger is partnering with the Childrenโ€™s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) to send 3,000 brand-new books to Vermont children this spring.ย

Often a book that a child receives from CLiF is the first they have ever owned. Today, we are asking 100 members to step up and send 100 books! Will you be one of them?

Your gift in any amount will support our independent statewide news for Vermont during an important election year. Plus youโ€™ll send a brand-new book that could become a childโ€™s very first to call their own.

If you can, please consider joining the 40% of our members who make a monthly contribution. Monthly sustaining members enable our newsroom to take on complex investigations and big projects that require advance planning and result in deep impact. As a monthly sustainer, you can rest easy knowing that youโ€™re doing your part for Vermont and you can always cancel anytime.

Thank you for your readership and support,ย
