“Meet me where the sky touches the sea,” is one poet’s way of saying follow me on an adventure; what’s yours? This week’s featured writer, Ellicott Smith of Norwich, lyricizes less of a journey’s beginning than its end, composing a final setting where the river ends, where time fades, where melodies echo – a place where lost souls may meet again.

Meet me at the river’s end
where waters slow and sink,
where the bank gives way to the bottomless depths
below the sirens’ screams.
Meet me in the mountain shade
where time begins to fade,
were wanderers brush past old remains
above the gravestone dreams.
Meet me where the eagles cry,
where wildflowers wilt,
where melodies will echo evermore
upon the farthest streams.
Meet me at the meeting place
where we will meet again,
where I’ll whisper on the breeze,
“See the world beneath how it seems.”
