Vermont State Police say they and the Bristol Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting Monday night of a male juvenile in Bristol.
The name of the juvenile has been withheld pending further investigation and notification of relatives, state police said in a press release late Monday night.
An autopsy is expected to take place at the Vermont Chief Medical Examinerโs Office in Burlington to determine the cause and manner of the juvenileโs death, the release stated.
No one is in custody, police said in the release, and the investigation was in its early stages Monday night. Investigators do not believe the fatal shooting is related to any of the seven other recent homicide or suspicious death investigations in Vermont since the start of October.
โPreliminary work by investigators indicates this was an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the broader community,โ the release stated.
No additional information was immediately available late Monday night.
