The U.S.-Canada border crossing at Derby Line has reopened after an investigation that included members of the Vermont State Police Bomb Squad.
The northbound lanes of Interstate 91 at the border were closed to traffic around noon Thursday and remained so until about 6 p.m., according to a state police press release.
Members of the bomb squad were called in to assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which is the lead agency on the incident, according to the release. Citing CBP, multiple news outlets said the incident involved a suspicious package.
