Dear Reader,

Over the past two months, VTDiggerโ€™s news coverage has helped millions of people understand the grave impact of this summerโ€™s historic flooding on Vermonters. Our breaking news reporting provided critical, life-saving information before, during and well after historic rainfall inundated the state. Our photos and headlines attracted the attention of government leaders and ordinary people all over the region and the country โ€” helping to bring vital aid to our state.

For the next 10 days during our fall member drive, we are raising funds to sustain our newsroom and power the important follow-up reporting needed in the wake of the floods. Would you consider joining us in stepping up during this historic year by becoming a monthly member?

In the immediate aftermath of the July flooding, VTDigger reporters fanned out across the state, logging hundreds of miles in personal vehicles and hiking into nearly inaccessible towns and cities by foot. Our newsroom has published more than 300 fact-based reports on the floods and their impact since July 10.

Our work was featured on the floor of the U.S. Senate to make the case for emergency aid to Vermont. Our images and headlines were broadcast to millions of viewers and concert-goers at Phish benefit concerts that raised over $3.5 million dollars for Vermont flood relief.

There is a long road to recovery ahead, and VTDigger will help you navigate it by continuing to bring you daily updates, describe the human impact and deliver deep investigations.

If you relied on VTDigger during the flooding, please show your support for our journalists during this fall member drive. As a monthly supporter, youโ€™ll become one of our staunchest supporters.

Thank you for considering a donation to support our nonprofit news. We truly canโ€™t do this work without you.
