A 25-year-old construction worker died Sunday while working on a roof at an apartment complex at 4040 Route 5 in Burke.
Vermont State Police said Casey Driver, a resident of Derby, was performing roof work for Vincent’s Carpentry of Derby on the three-story apartment building when he struck a high-tension power line with a metal ladder at about 11:15 a.m., causing an electric shock, and then fell off the roof, a drop of 25 to 30 feet.
Lyndonville Ambulance responded. Police said Driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Vermont State Police and the Vermont Occupational Health and Safety Administration are investigating the incident.
