Dear Reader,
Our guiding motto is โnews in pursuit of truth.โ The 25 reporters, photographers and editors that fill our newsroom are driven by their integrity and commitment to keeping our readers informed with reliable, high-quality local journalism.
And we want to ensure that Vermontโs children have the tools they need to become lifelong readers and engaged citizens. But 60 percent of low-income Vermont families have no childrenโs books at home, and many kids canโt access the reading material they need.
For our Spring Membership Drive, VTDigger is partnering with the Childrenโs Literacy Foundation (CLiF) to provide 2,500 books to Vermont kids. Donate to VTDigger in any amount, and an underserved child will receive a brand new book.
If every person reading this article gave $10 now, we would hit our fundraising goal today. What do you say? Will you help fund local journalism and send a book?
Thanks to our local business supporters, you will also be entered to win one of two $100 gift cards to Guyโs Farm and Yard or $100 to The Local: Wine and Beer in Middlesex.
Letโs help keep journalism strong and ensure that Vermontโs children are given the tools they need to become readers and critical thinkers.
There are only nine days left to make a gift and send a book. Thanks for considering a donation at any level that works for you!
Yours,
Florencio Terra
