A man at the Springfield prison is facing a criminal charge for allegedly assaulting another person in custody there last month.
Tyler Foster, 28, was issued a citation on a misdemeanor charge of simple assault, according to a press release Wednesday from Vermont State Police.
Foster is accused of assaulting Dylan Williams, 35, on April 20, while both were housed at Southern State Correctional Facility.
Williams suffered minor injuries, police said.
Foster is set to be arraigned on the charge June 20 in Windsor County Superior criminal court in White River Junction.
Also Wednesday, state police announced that Shan McGlynn, incarcerated at the Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport, was cited for false swearing and making a false report.
McGlynn, 49, is accused of falsely reporting being assaulted by a corrections staff person late in the morning on May 3, according to state police.
McGlynn is set to be arraigned on the charges June 27 at the Orleans County Superior criminal court in Newport.
