A woman was found dead at a Casella recycling processing center in Hartford on Tuesday, according to the Hartford Police Department.
The Vermont State Police are assisting the local agency with an investigation, Hartford police said, calling the death an apparent “isolated incident” that poses “no risk to the community.”
Jeff Weld, director of communications for Casella, said the company’s “operational and safety teams are working with state and local authorities to help with their ongoing investigation.”
Casella maintains a zero-sort recycling facility on Woodstock Road in Hartford, not far from Interstate 89.
Adam Silverman, a state police spokesperson, referred all questions to the Hartford Police Department. Hartford police declined to comment further on Tuesday afternoon.
