Two Burlington police officers suffered minor injuries after crashing their cruisers while responding to a call on Saturday, police said in a press release.
The crash occurred at the intersection of North Street and North Champlain Street in Burlingtonโs Old North End, Lieutenant Michael Henry said in the release.
The officers, who were not named in the release, were responding to a report of a domestic assault in progress. Henry said one officer was driving east on North Street while another was heading north on North Champlain Street. They entered the intersection at the same time and collided.
One cruiser also hit another car, which was parked and unoccupied.
Members of the fire department brought the two officers to University of Vermont Medical Center, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
Police said other officers responded to the reported assault โwhere the person of interest was no longer on scene and the caller refused to cooperate with law enforcement,โ according to the release.
Police said the crash will be investigated, as is customary with all crashes involving police vehicles.
