Dear Reader,

You’ve been asking, and we’ve been listening. Vermonters say they want more local news, in addition to statewide reporting. That’s why VTDigger is investing in more regional coverage.

Will you help us raise $50,000 in the next nine days to build out regional coverage from the Northeast Kingdom to Bennington County? Any amount, whether it’s $10 or $100, makes a difference.

Readers tell us they need more local news coverage of their communities due to loss or decline of their traditional weekly newspapers. In many places, no one is covering local events, school board meetings, town government or local business anymore.

Other readers say they want to know more about issues and solutions in different towns across the state that may help their communities.

You can help us respond by supporting this member drive.

Our growing team of regional reporters are dedicated to serving their assigned geographic area, surfacing important stories for residents and creating a more informed, engaged and connected Vermont. (We also offer our stories to other community news publishers across the state for free.)

If you can, please join in to help us bring Vermont together through rigorous local journalism for all -–  no matter where you live in the state.

Thank you for being a VTDigger reader and supporting our work.

Yours,

Libbie Sparadeo

Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships

P.S. If you have thoughts about what you would like to see from local news, we’d love to hear from you.
