Three people were hurt slightly Saturday when they were struck by a truck in Waterbury’s annual Not Quite Independence Day Parade, police said.

Shawn Keating, 57, of Fayston was driving his truck as part of the parade through downtown, right behind a performing band, when for unknown reasons he was unable to stop his truck and it struck three people.

Police said Jake Venafra, 14, and Jennifer Sheridan, 53, had minor leg injuries, and Lori Lisai, 48, had a minor foot injury. Police said Venafra was taken to Central Vermont Medical Center for treatment, but Sheridan and Lisai declined a trip to the hospital.

Police said Keating was cooperative during the investigation and showed no signs of impairment.
