Vermont State Police have brought criminal charges in a May 16 rollover crash on Interstate 89 in Royalton in which all four passengers were ejected from the vehicle, including a 3-year-old girl who police said was not in a child safety seat.

Matthew Hallock, 31, of Montpelier has been charged with driving under the influence, negligent driving and cruelty to a child, according to police.

Tamara Hallock, 31, of Montpelier, who police said was in the back seat with the child, has been charged with cruelty to a child, police said.

Also in the vehicle was Kelsey Therrien, 23, of Orange, who was ejected from the front passenger seat and does not face any charges.

All four occupants of the vehicle were taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with what police described as โ€œsuspected seriousโ€ injuries, but not life-threatening. Police said Matthew Hallock was driving a 2002 Toyota Tundra at high speed when it crashed.

Matthew and Tamara Hallock are scheduled to appear in Windsor County Superior Court on July 26.
