A Coventry man was being held without bail Tuesday on charges of sexual assault and lewd and lascivious conduct with what Vermont State Police said were multiple children.
Andre Laramee, 70, was arrested Tuesday on the Vermont charges, and also on an arrest warrant issued from New Hampshire on similar charges, according to a press release from Vermont State Police.
Police began investigating April 1, working with the Newport (New Hampshire) Police Department, the Vermont Department for Children and Families, and the New Hampshire Department for children, youth and families.
Police allege they found that Laramee had allegedly sexually assaulted and acted in a lewd and lascivious manner with multiple children. He was arraigned Tuesday in Orleans County Criminal Court and was ordered held without bail at the Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport.
