Vermont reported 199 new Covid-19 cases, 16 hospitalizations and one additional death Wednesday.

The state’s seven-day average for new infections is 139, down from 144 on Tuesday, according to the Vermont Department of Health dashboard

Vermont’s seven-day average test positivity rate was 4.9% Wednesday, up from 4.8% on Tuesday. (The test positivity rate includes only PCR tests, not at-home antigen tests.)

The health department reported that 16 people were hospitalized with Covid as of Wednesday, up from 14 on Tuesday. That includes two people in intensive care, the same as on Tuesday.

The state reported one additional Covid death on Wednesday. Ten people have died from Covid in Vermont so far in March, and 614 people have died in total since the beginning of the pandemic.
