Some Vermonters who got tested late last week are still awaiting their results because of issues with the state’s electronic lab reporting system, the Department of Health said Monday.
The issues also delayed an update of the state’s Covid-19 case dashboard. The dashboard, which typically updates each day around noon, still had Sunday’s data as of 5 p.m. — including a record-setting 2,644 cases on Saturday. Case counts may be adjusted, according to a notice on the webpage.
Department spokesperson Katie Warchut said that electronic lab reporting problems were causing the delays.
“We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to resolve these issues,” she wrote via email.
Warchut reported a high volume of phone calls to the health department on Monday. She said that anyone who was tested last week and did not receive test results in three days can email the health department’s public inbox, AHS.VDHPublicCommunication@vermont.gov, with the following information: name, date of birth, email address used to register for the test, date of the test, testing location and any information about urgent situations such as travel plans.
Asked how many Vermonters were affected by the issues, she said she did not have any further information.
“They are still working through it,” she said.
On Monday afternoon, the department updated its case dashboard webpage to include a statement: “Updates to the case dashboard will be delayed as we work on accurate reporting for recent days. Case counts from Saturday and Sunday will be adjusted along with the regular updates as soon as possible.”

A relatively low 203 cases were reported Sunday. Vermonters on Twitter noted that Sunday’s count included only 1,055 tests, the lowest one-day testing total since July 2021.
As of Sunday’s data update, 90 Vermonters were hospitalized with the virus, including 19 in intensive care units. The department added one new death to its data, for a total of three deaths so far in January and 483 deaths during the pandemic.
