The University of Vermont is freezing undergraduate tuition again.

โ€œOnly a small number of universities in the country have frozen tuition for four years,โ€ board of trustees Chair Ron Lumbra said. โ€œThis not only helps students and families, but also helps position UVM for continued success in a highly competitive higher education environment, which is why our board continues to enthusiastically support President Garimellaโ€™s efforts in this area.โ€

Students will not see a tuition increase for the 2022-23 academic year. The graduating class of 2023 will have paid the same tuition all four years. In-state students will continue to pay $16,392. Out-of-state students will pay $41,280.

Tuition only represents the largest portion of what undergraduates pay to attend UVM, but there are several other costs.

The university charges a comprehensive undergraduate fee. That also will be frozen for the coming academic year, as will room and board.

The comprehensive fee is $2,610 for all undergraduates. It supports athletics, health services, technology, library resources, academic support services, online learning platforms, career counseling and student organizations.

Room rates range from $5,870 to $10,942 for the academic year.

Meal plans range from $4,568 to $5,104 for the academic year.
