Vermont reported its highest-ever one-day total for Covid-19 cases on Saturday, with 347 new infections, according to the state Department of Health.

The state also reported 240 new infections on Sunday and 202 infections on Monday, bringing the seven-day case average to 233 cases per day. That’s up from 218 on Friday.

Saturday’s record beat a previous high of 330 cases reported on Sept. 15, which the health department partially attributed to a computer glitch at the time.

The department also disclosed three new deaths in its data. In total, 346 people have died in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic. The state has recorded 18 deaths so far in October.

The state reports that 41 people are currently in the hospital with the virus, including 11 in the ICU. The number of hospitalizations has wavered between 30 to 49 people so far in October.
