A ceremony to honor the memory of Vermonters who have lost their lives to Covid-19 was held on the steps of the Vermont Statehouse in Montpelier Sunday afternoon. Vermont Interfaith Action hosted religious and community leaders who gathered to remember loved ones lost and to praise Vermontersโ€™ response to the pandemic.

About 75 people assembled to listen as speakers took turns reading the names of those who had died from the virus. One daisy for each of the victims was arranged into two wreaths while the names were recited.

“I think it’s important to show some support for a celebration of life,” said Herschel Collins, of Barre City. Photo by Glenn Russell/VTDigger

Herschel Collins, of Barre City, bowed his head as he sat on the steps of the capital and listened to the speakers. “I think it’s important to show some support for a celebration of life,” Collins said.
