Vermont set recent records for daily Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations over the past three days.
The Department of Health reported 108 new Covid-19 cases and one new death on Monday.
Over the weekend, the state reported 405 total new cases and three additional deaths. Saturday’s total of 222 cases was the highest one-day count since April 10.
Totals for Saturday and Sunday were increased from the counts initially reported. Saturday’s total jumped from 184 to 222, and Sunday’s total moved from 141 to 183. Case counts have recently been retroactively increased on a daily basis.
As of Monday, 38 people were hospitalized with Covid-19, the highest daily total since February 21. Nine of those people were in intensive care, and one more person was hospitalized with a suspected case.
Ten people have died from the virus so far in September, according to the Department of Health, and 288 have died throughout the pandemic.
As of Monday, the seven-day average test positivity rate was 3.5%.
The state’s vaccine dashboard, also updated Monday, shows 86.7% of eligible Vermonters have received at least one dose of the vaccine. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 68.6% of the state’s total population is fully vaccinated.
