The Vermont Department of Health updated its website Wednesday with new information about how Black, Indigenous and people of color Vermonters and their households can obtain Covid-19 vaccines.
People of color who are currently eligible for the vaccine based on the Department of Healthโs criteria โ age, certain chronic conditions and certain occupations โ can register themselves and household members for vaccine appointments at specific clinics.
Because of the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on Vermonters of color and disproportionately low rates of vaccine uptake, the Department of Health has partnered with organizations across the state to administer vaccination clinics specifically focused on these populations.
The Department of Health and coordinating organizations โ including the Vermont Racial Justice Alliance and the Windham County NAACP โ published signup forms for clinics in the Burlington and Brattleboro areas.
Vermonters of color and their household members can also contact the Department of Health call center at 855-722-7878 to set up an appointment. If an eligible person in a household has already received the vaccine or scheduled an appointment, household members can still register for appointments with the clinics focused on people of color.
More details about how Black, Indigenous and people of color household eligibility works and how to sign up are now published in VTDiggerโs searchable Covid FAQ database.
