Several Southern Vermont towns reported high case rates of the coronavirus this week. Cases eased but didn’t disappear in Addison County, where Christmas services at a Vergennes church had led to an outbreak, according to town-by-town data from the Vermont Department of Health.

In Southern Vermont, the neighboring towns of Manchester, Winhall, Londonderry, Landgrove and Weston were in the highest bracket of Covid cases compared to their population. Dover, a ski town, and nearby Wilmington also had high case rates.

Killington, also a ski town, and nearby Stockbridge, Rochester and Hancock had high case rates as well.

High case rates in Addison County continued after the Vergennes church gathering led to more than 100 cases. Vergennes, New Haven, Bridport and Shoreham reported their Covid cases in the highest bracket, although towns such as Weybridge had fewer cases than last week.

Other towns with high case rates include Tunbridge, Waterville, Eden, North Hero, Norton, Canaan and Guildhall.
