The Department of Health reported 120 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday. Total cases in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic now number 5,015, and total deaths number 79.
As of Wednesday, daily case numbers dating back to Sept. 6 now include cases considered as “probable” under the department’s new reporting criteria.
New cases were reported Friday in 13 counties:
- Chittenden: 33
- Washington: 19
- Franklin: 13
- Windsor: 11
- Windham: 9
- Orleans: 8
- Rutland: 8
- Caledonia: 5
- Addison: 4
- Bennington: 4
- Orange: 3
- Lamoille: 2
- Essex: 1
As of Sunday, 22 people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19, with four in intensive care. Three more were hospitalized with suspected cases.
The state reported that 583,802 tests have been administered for the illness in Vermont since mid-March, an increase of 5,793. As of Sunday, 233,880 people have been tested. The seven-day positivity rate is 2.8%, the same as Saturday’s.
