Rep. Linda Joy Sullivan, D-Dorset, fell short in her bid to oust Doug Hoffer from the auditor’s office.

Sullivan is a moderate Democrat, a contrast to Hoffer, a Progressive/Democrat. She said it was time for a new pair of eyes in the auditor’s office. Hoffer won his first election for auditor in 2012.

The other statewide incumbents — Treasurer Beth Pearce, Secretary of State Jim Condos, and Attorney General TJ Donovan — were running uncontested.

H Brooke Paige, a perennial political candidate in Vermont, is again seeking multiple Republican nominations. He looks set to win a close race against Emily Peyton in the AG’s primary, and won the SoS primary uncontested, setting himself up for a rematch of 2018 against Condos.
