The state Department of Health reported a new death Thursday from the novel coronavirus, the first since May 28, four weeks ago. The department released no further information on the person who died.
The health department also reported six new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, after a report of zero cases Wednesday. That brings the total number of people diagnosed with the illness in Vermont since the outbreak began in March to 1,135.
Testing sites are open throughout the state for anyone who is asymptomatic and wants a test. Testing sites can be found here: https://humanresources.vermont.gov/popups
Those who have symptoms should call their health care provider for testing.
The new death brings the total number of people who have died from Covid-19 in Vermont to 56. There are two people hospitalized with Covid-19 and nine hospitalized with suspected, but not confirmed, cases.
The state reported it has conducted 54,745 tests.
