The Vermont National Guard will fly over 16 Vermont hospitals and medical centers Friday in a salute to the state’s health care workers.
The flyover with four F-35 Lightning IIs is scheduled to take just an hour, from approximately 12:17 to 1:17 p.m., and span nearly the entire state, going as far south as Bennington and Brattleboro and as far north as St. Albans and Newport.
The flight is part of “Operation America Strong,” a series of flyovers taking place across the country to recognize health care workers on the frontlines of the pandemic.
“What we are doing is paying tribute to our front-line health care workers confronting Covid, and it’s really a signal to all Americans to remain vigilant during the outbreak,” President Trump said of the operation.
Several of these flyovers involving F-35s from the Vermont Guard’s 158th Fighter Wing to thank the state’s health care workers have already occured.
