The Vermont Department of Health reported five new Covid-19 cases on Monday afternoon, bringing the total caseload in the state to 902. The state has conducted 17,332 Covid-19 tests since the crisis began. No new deaths were reported today.
Gov. Phil Scott on Monday announced that limited elective medical procedures could resume. The governor’s decision comes as state modeling continues to show the spread of Covid-19 has slowed. Health care providers that meet specific criteria to protect patients and clinicians from possible infection, can begin nonessential outpatient clinic visits, diagnostic imaging and outpatient surgeries and procedures.
Health care providers resuming more kinds of care must be able to screen patients, staff and essential visitors for coronavirus symptoms, have adequate protective equipment for staff, patients and visitors and space out chairs in the waiting room, among other precautions.
The health department’s full report for today is here.
